Client Background:
One of Canada's leading providers of home and community health care services. This privately owned company is proud to be a Platinum member of Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program, a distinction it has earned annually since 2006. In 2015, they received the Best Practice Spotlight Organization designation from the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario. Additionally, in2023 they were recognized as one of Canada’s Best Employers in Forbes.
The Challenges:
This was a high priority hire for our client and they needed to fill the position quickly. An internal search was conducted for over six months without success due to the difficulty in finding a candidate who met the high-level requirements. The candidate needed to have very specific knowledge in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), as well as be proficient in AWS/Azure, a rare combination. Additionally, the client had a specific budget for the recruitment, which was proving to be an additional challenge.
The Key Requirements of the Role:
Our client sought an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Senior Systems Engineer that also was proficient in Identity Governance and Administration(IGA). They were also looking for someone that was well versed in Scripting and Automation (PowerShell), Cloud Service, Identity Lifecycle Management (Active Directory), Windows Server Administration, Automation, OKTA, PING and Cyberak.
Enter Patch Tech Staffing:
Our client approached Patch to assist in the recruitment process. Right away we tapped into our internal database of over 10,000 IT professionals and we were able to start sourcing contenders right away that met the specific requirements of the role. Since Patch takes a collaborative approach, we had a deep understanding of the clients needs and the intricacies of the position.
In two weeks’ time, Patch was able to narrow the search down to 4 candidates that all possessed the necessary experience as well as qualities that we felt would be a good cultural fit for the client. Patch presented the files for our client to review, and all four contenders were selected to participate in the first round of interviews.
Interview Process:
The initial interview was done virtually for each of the candidates with the internal hiring manager of the company. Once the first round was complete, one of the candidates was asked to move forward to the second stage and come for an in-person technical interview. The client was so impressed, that they sent an offer to our candidate the same day as the technical interview took place. The candidate happily accepted the offer and the onboarding process was able to start right away.
Result:
Within 30 days from the initial ask, Patch was able to find the perfect candidate that was ultimately hired on for the position. The candidate integrated seamlessly into the team and both parties are extremely happy with the outcome of our recruitment efforts. Working with Patch resulted with our client seeing a large increase in both productivity and operational efficiency immediately.
The IAM Engineer was able to reduce the risk of both internal and external data breaches which in the long run saves our clients millions of dollars. In addition to this, they were able to centralize the authentication for a number of apps that the company was using, which resulted in hundreds of thousands in savings.
